A. What is it? Using technology in ways which are effective yet respectful and
courteous to others
B. Inappropriate Use
1. being distracted by your gadget during class
2. having loud conversations on your phone
3. participating in cyberbullying, flaming, or other negative behavior
C. Appropriate Use
1. having your phone in silent manner mode (or off) during class/meeting
2. being aware of how your actions are effecting others around you
3. being positive and supportive with your written words
D. Guidelines for Good Online Etiquette
1. make yourself look good (keep it clean and happy)
2. respect and protect everyone’s privacy
3. be forgiving of other people’s mistakes
a) typing errors
b) grammar goofs
c) remember you aren’t perfect either
4. follow the same rules (and more) that you are expected to follow
face-to-face
5. nothing is truly deleted - if it is there once, it is there forever
